From trail improvements to historic preservation, every project we support helps protect, enhance, and sustain White Rock Lake for future generations.
WHERE COMMUNITY SUPPORT GOES.
The White Rock Lake Foundation works with the Dallas Park and Recreation Department and the City of Dallas as well as community partners to identify priorities and fund projects that make a difference – improving safety, accessibility, and the natural environment of the lake.

Phase II of the renovation/restoration of Winfrey Point
Landscaping is a part of this plan, and we are working in partnership with the East Dallas Garden Tour on this project
These are a select sample of the projects that the WRL Foundation has completed at White Rock Lake. Hundreds of projects completed, more to come, and more to do for the Jewel of Dallas.

Completion of the $500,000+ Phase I renovation of Winfrey Point

New signage (Type B Portal Sign) at the Emerald Isle entrance to White Rock Lake

New signage (Type B Portal Sign) at the entrance to T & P Hill

Shade Structures at the Little League Ball Fields (in partnership with Dallas Classic Baseball)

Obtained Dallas City Council support to place a $18 million dredging project for White Rock Lake on the 1995 bond election.

Designed and saw to completion new drive lanes, parking, hike and bike trails, and landscape improvements on East Lawther Drive from the main Garland Road entrance to Winfrey Point.

New Trail/Directional signage throughout the park (in partnership with the Dallas Running Club)

Developed the total Master Plan rendering for White Rock Lake Park.

Funded and designed new architectural stone abutments to the pedestrian bridge at the main park entrance.

Refurbished and renovated the White Rock Lake monument sign and bridge at the main entrance.

Built a new stone sign for Winfrey Point.

Obtained an Urban Wildlife Sanctuary designation for White Rock Lake.

Funded signs for the “Lock, Take and Hide” program.

Founding sponsor for White Rock Lake Volunteers In Patrol.

Gold Sponsor for the White Rock Lake Museum.

Raised funds for the Little League ball fields at Winfrey Point.

Built new stone sign for Boy Scout Hill.

Campaigning for bond issues to restore and beautify the lake.

Raising funds for shoreline enhancements.

Working on other funding projects identified and targeted by the Dallas Park and Recreation Department.
